Sneak Peek Into Fall 2010 Wedding Gown Trends
For the unfamiliar, this is how bridal market works. The designers present their runway shows to the bridal shop owners, who in turn will order samples of their favorite gowns to carry in their stores. The gowns ordered from the collection that was just shown will not begin to arrive in the bridal salons until January (or later) of 2010. Given the 4-6 month lead time needed for a bride to order a designer gown, the wedding gowns ordered from the showroom samples will not be arriving until the summer of 2010. That is why the collection of bridal gowns on the runway in the fall of 2009 is referred to as the Fall 2010 collection: those are the first brides who will be wearing these fabulous frocks.
Each wedding gown designer has their own style, and yet there are inevitably trends across the industry as a whole. In the previous few seasons, trends like the one shoulder gown and the empire waisted Grecian goddess look ruled the runway. The Fall 2010 collection of bridal gowns went in a different direction. The one shoulder look, while still popular for bridesmaids, is beginning to fade for brides (as fresh as it looked when new, this was a trend with an obvious shelf life).
One of the biggest trends for the Fall 2010 bridal gowns is skirts with lots of texture and movement. Ruffles, tiers, vertical ruffles, appliqued flowers; all of this and more covered the skirts of the gowns. Plain is definitely out. Full skirts were in evidence, as were plenty of modified trumpet skirts. Many of the gowns had a good bit of drama in their silhouettes. Ethereal tulle skirts are also in style for the upcoming season.
As we saw for the Spring 2010 collection, fabric embellishments are very popular, more so than heavy beadwork or embroidery. Favorite accents include oversized bows, fabric flowers, and bits of lace. This type of tone on tone textural ornamentation pairs beautifully with crystal bridal jewelry sets, rather than heavy rhinestones. Bridal jewelry sets should have movement (such as swingy earrings), just like the gowns with which they will be paired.
Strapless gowns ruled the runway yet again. Although plenty of dropped waists were in evidence, there was a strong trend towards gowns with natural waistlines with full textural skirts. Many of the bodices on the wedding gowns also had some texture. Shirred or gathered bodices are very popular, even with all of the focus on ruffled and tiered skirts.
Short dresses remain a growing segment of the offerings for brides. Whether for City Hall chic ceremonies or second dresses for receptions, there are numerous shorter gowns from which the Fall 2010 bride will be able to choose. Overall, the Fall 2010 bridal gown collection appears to have a lot of beautiful dresses for brides with a variety of different styles.

Ideas For Christmas DIY Wedding Invitations
The cost of ordering your invites from stationers can be very pricey. Once you have recovered from the shock of the quoted prices. You maybe start to think about making your own home made wedding invitations.
How about trying to make a Christmas tree design. Everyone can draw a tree, have a go. You know you have a creative side inside just waiting to surface. The tree can have decorations on each branch. The traditional colors of red and green still hold a special touch today in everyone's heart.
You can add a little creativity to the tree by choosing different colours to make your Christmas theme. Silver and white is a great choice as a color theme for the festive period. You may decide on having pink decorations on top of a pink tree. For the Goths there is a brilliant black tree with black and white decorations. Your color choice is endless.
A fantastic invite would be a normal square shaped card. Brides can choose to have a little header at the top of the wedding invitation with both names. You can also add the wedding date for a special touch.
You can make an amazing invitation by choosing a normal shaped card. A card which opens out to the side would be an ideal choice to start with to show off your unique invite. On the front of the card you can punch holes in various wintery shapes. A snowflake would be a good design to start with for your invitation. Insert a different colored wording on the inside of the border of the invitation to show your design off to its fullest. The special hole punches can be purchased from local supermarkets or craft shops.
Couples can choose a plain white card with a red border. This is a very elegant style and simple design to complete. The border can be plain red in colour or have a pattern. Both choices will wow the wedding guests.

Beautiful Bride Sexy Wedding Hairstyle
This glamorous down style is a fine choice for the bride who wants hot wedding pictures.
It looks a lot like a Jessica Simpson wedding hairstyle--not the exact style she had at her wedding, but one of her special Hollywood hairstyles chosen for a wedding.
Jessica had hair extensions and this bride may also be wearing them, too.
It has fantastic waves/curls and is decorated with two lovely white flowers--one on either side on the top of her head

Having Your Wedding on Santorini Island
What matters for you to notice, it is not only those wonderful talks and reviews of other people who have already been there, but how can a couple from a far place can be easily convinced to have their wedding on this island. But that could only be done by a complete wedding package offered by travel agencies or Santorini hotels directly. All the hotels have excellent wedding planners, well experienced that have a variety of ideas on how couples would like to present their special day to their guests. They had a complete list of couturier, jewelers, flower shops, beautician or beauty parlor that can be chosen by the couples according to their needs and wants for the upcoming celebration.
Couples who want to make their wedding very private, away from crowded neighborhoods and gate crashers will surely get the solemnity of the occasion if the wedding will be done inside the hotels. Many of Santorini hotels have a little chapel inside where the ceremony can be done. It would be wiser though for the couple though to take a mini vacation first on the island, choose the right hotel and then talk with the organizer of the wedding. Through this conversation, they will be given specific pointers and tips when, where, what why and how could their wedding become so unique and memorable.
Tips like when is the best time, month or day to get married in Santorini island, as well as where would be the best place to have the reception and the honeymoon, how many quests they will have, what are the excellent things that will be used by both parties, whether it would be a color motif of the dress, kind of flowers, fashion dress, make-up and accessories, if they are going to have a traditional Greek wedding or any other questions that the couple may have.

Retro Wedding Favours
Why not give the archetypal favour (i.e. a bag of sweets) a twist by using retro sweets such as Love Hearts, giant candy lollipops, popcorn, custom sticks of rock, or a even personalised gumball machine! A boxed cupcake for each guest would look the part and go down a treat at a 50s themed wedding. For a winter wedding, what could be more fitting than a home-made shiny red toffee apple!
If it's a non food treat you are after, then how about a custom mix CD disguised as a vinyl record, perfect for the music loving couple! Other retro gift ideas include personalised lemonade mix, vintage style fans, cupake lipgloss and glider kits (thanks to Laura and Scott from our October wedding story for the last two ideas!)
"So where can I get all this fab stuff?" I hear you cry! Retro sweets from Retro Tuckshop, lollipops from Favors and Flowers, customised rock from The Rock People, cupcakes from Truly Scrumptious, vinyl CDs from Escape Concepts, popcorn, gumball machine, lemonade mix, fans, lipgloss and gliders all available from Wedding Things, also check out Escape Concepts for a range of wedding favours and table decorations.

Hot Trends in Wedding Photography
Informal candids are definitely the most popular variety of wedding photos. They are intended less to be a visual record of who was at the wedding, and more as a fluid overview of some of the high points of the day. They should capture the mood and spirit of the wedding by giving the viewer glimpses into the little moments that make the day special. The bride might want her photographer to be there when she is getting into her bridal gown and wedding jewelry to get a snapshot of her dress going over her head or her sister struggling to pin on her veil. A good candid photographer will have an eye for the other memorable parts of a wedding, from capturing a meaningful glance exchanged by the bride and groom to the look of pure joy on the face of a flower girl on the dance floor. Your guest book will tell you who was at the wedding; the candid photos should show what they did and capture the festive spirit of the event.
Wedding photography taken in unusual places is one of the hottest rising trends in weddings. Many of these pictures are taken as engagement photos before the wedding, but they are nothing like the posed studio shots your parents had taken when they announced their betrothal. Urban backgrounds are particularly popular, ranging from black and white photos set against a towering city skyline to gritty scenes in front of graffitied brick walls. For couples who do not live in a city, popular backgrounds include seasides, natural locations, and even places like carnivals and zoos. These settings are also gaining popularity for day-of-wedding photography; the contrast between the wild setting and the bride in her exquisite bridal gown, veil, and wedding jewelry makes for an interesting juxtaposition which gives the pictures an edgy quality.
Another trend in wedding photography is to make pictures a part of the event itself, rather than just something to look over weeks later. The rise in digital photography has made this possible. For instance, you might have the photographer use the photos he took during the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour to project as a slideshow onto a wall during the reception. Digital photo booths are finding popularity instead of traditional wedding favors. The guests can go into the booth and have their pictures taken as an instant keepsake of the day. Some of the photo booths will even have a monitor on the outside which will show all of the pictures taken during the reception as a slideshow for everyone to enjoy. An added bonus is that the newlyweds can get a copy of all of their guests's pictures burned on a disc for them to have as a souvenir.
There are several other up and coming ideas in wedding photography, including using images of the bride and groom on save-the-date cards, favor boxes, and even the wedding cake. Many couples are eschewing the traditional heavy wedding album and choosing to have customized photo books created online instead. With all of the amazing technology at our fingertips, wedding photography is a field that is only going to continue evolving in new and fascinating directions.
